What would you like to say to the educated men and women in Islam?

Q8. Host: Dr. Labib, what would you like to say to the educated men and women in Islam?

Answer

Dr. Labib: Well, I would like to tell you something very interesting. Very educated people, especially in Egypt and Lebanon, thought seriously about Islam, and wrote books criticizing the Koran, and even the life of Mohammed. And one of them is Dr. Fouad Farag. This man wrote about 4, 5, 6 books, and he was advocating that we should have a secular government in Egypt, separated totally from Islam, leaving everybody to his conscience, to choose what you want. And then, of course, he talked about the caliph, and how they were corrupted, and they talked about corruption under Islam in many eras. And you know what was the result? The fanatic Muslims shot him and killed him. But that doesn't scare the people. There is a great judge in Egypt whose name is Mohammad Saeid Alashmawi. And he wrote a book concerning the caliphs in Islam. And he said in his book, I have a copy of it, that the Koran was corrected by an Arabic picture somewhere. There is another one, and another one, and all of them are professors at the universities, and they wrote about Islam. And they started to think. One of them who was very famous, Hamed Naser Abou Zeid, and they had a case against him, they said that he is an apostate because of his writing, and he should not live with his wife, because the strict Muslim has no right to live with a Muslim woman. But his wife said, "I love my husband. I am not going to divorce him." And he was forced to leave Egypt, and he is living now in Holland. He is living now in Holland because the code said he has to be separated, divorced from his wife.

Things like that happen everywhere. Educated people in Lebanon, in Egypt, they are starting to think about Islam and its reality, and to read the Koran, and to read the Bible, and to compare, and to see which is which. You know, so many stories are totally distorted in the Koran. Look at the story of the flood. The Koran says that Noah's wife went to hell. It also says one of his sons drowned in the flood. The Bible was so clear that Noah, his wife, his three sons, his three daughters-in-law, all of them were in the ark, and were saved. The Koran says that his wife went to hell, and his son drowned. It doesn't do, it doesn't go, great contradiction. You read in the Koran that Mary, the mother of Jesus, is the sister of Aaron, the high priest. Mary, the sister of Aaron, lived before Mary, the mother of Jesus, 1,300 before. That's number one. Number two, Mary, the sister of Aaron, was from the tribe of Levy. Mary, the mother of Jesus, was from the tribe of Judah. But the Koran says, "Oh, sister of Aaron," talking to Mary, the mother of Jesus. This is a very bad historical error. It cannot come from God at all, the true God. And so you go and see all these things. I think that the educated people, if they really think to read the Koran, if they care about their eternal life, and I repeat, if any educated Muslim who can read and write will get himself the Koran, and read it carefully, and try to compare with the Bible, and see which is true and which is false, and come to conclusion, the whole story will be different. And we will see hundreds and thousands of educated people who will divorce themselves from Islam, and embrace Christianity. I tell you, any educated man, when he reads the Koran, will see so many contradictions in it, so many contradictions! One time the Koran speaks about the Jews, the Christians, and the Sabeans , that they have no fear on them, and they have their eternal destiny assured. And another time they said that Jews and Christians are people who do not worship the true God and to go and kill them. Make your mind up, think which is right, which is wrong. Why does Mohammed praise the Jews and Christians while he was weak, in Mecca, and then he attacked them when he had an army in Median. It's because of power.

And then again, why does it happen that Islam will never allow any educated person to express his ideas freely about Islam, without the fear of death? No one can criticize the Koran. No one can criticize Mohammed. You come to the West, here, people can criticize the Bible, they can criticize Jesus Christ, they can deny His deity, and nobody would hurt them. But once to talk one word about Mohammed in Afghanistan about this! About the Koran, exclusion. What does that say? Any educated person who would like to use his brain, and I want to tell every educated, since you have a brain, and you are educated, you will pay a high price when you encounter God in the day of judgment, because you have no excuse. You can study for yourself, you can understand, and you can come to conclusions. And because of that, I say to the educated people, use your brains, and choose the right way.
