The Quran is simply not compatible with a God who is by nature just and holy. There are many if not hundreds of verses in the Quran and the Hadifh which condone and command Muslims to do violence. We all know the saying, violence breed violence. Humans by nature is inherently violent. Whenever violence is perpetrated against someone it is often followed by revenge who's been abuse, thus any religion that commands to do violence cannot be a religion of peace. Islam is NOT! a religion of peace. My view is that, the facts speaks for themselves.
Pribnow, I assume you're talking about what the book, Being Muslim, was talking about. I interpreted it a little differently. Christianity and Islam have a lot of parallels. Both the Bible and the Quran mention the same prophets and stories. The main difference is that Muslims believe Allah is God and Mohammed was Allah's prophet. So the Islamic faith starts out somewhat similar to Christianity, but it takes a turn. That why they say it's a continuation of Christianity.
I have been educated that Islam is a continuation of Christianity, but I do not see how this can be since Christianity and Islam take different paths to their god through some mutual beings.
If Jesus was the prophet of Islam why didn't he teach the same things as Muhammad or Moses. Jesus was the only man on earth to never sin, never lie, steal, etc. So when he claimed to be the son of God, he wasn't telling a lie. The reason Jesus is the son of God is because he said it himself, performed miracles, resurrected.
Christianity is revelation so Muslim evaluate the truth of the sprit through their flesh but salivation is from God and let Jesus reveal him self to them just like me
