Q11. Host: Dr. Labib, it has been such a pleasure to get to listen to you share your knowledge with us. Is there any other information that you would like to impart the viewers/readers? (8:06)

Answer

Dr. Labib: Well, I want to tell the viewers and readers a very important thing. And that is, sometimes people look to the life of the so-called Christian people. They see a lot of sex, a lot of drugs, a lot of crime, and they say, "Look at Christianity. This is your Christianity. Your daughters are giving themselves to me. Your young men, are taking drugs. And all this corruption, this is Christianity." I think this is very bad indication, because there is a difference between the religion and the followers of the religion. The religion may be very pure, but the followers are very bad. Is it the fault of the religion? No! God gave the Israelis the ten commandments. The first commandment, "Listen, don't have any god before me." What did they do? When Moses went to the mountain, immediately they went to Aaron and said, "Make us a god that we may follow." Is that the fault of God? Is that the fault of the ten commandments, or is that the fault of the people?

It was the fault of the people. So we have to make a difference between a follower of a religion, and the origin of the religion, which is the Bible itself. Is the Bible a bad book? Does the Bible teach polygamy? Does the Bible teach force, and war, and fighting? Does the Bible teach husbands to beat their wives? Nothing of that sort! So we go to the Bible, and when you tell me that the Christians don't live according to the Bible, we blame the Christians, but we don't have anything against the Bible and the source of Christianity. That's number one.

Number two, I want to tell you something. Every one of us, every one, is born with sin. We cannot ignore that, because when we look at crime, war, all the things that we are seeing, homosexuality, lesbianism, and you name it, you see that mankind is born with a falling nature. We cannot save ourselves. God is a holy God. We cannot bribe Him with our good works or intentions. Salvation should come from God. And before the creation of man, God said, "Man is going to fall!" We didn't take God by surprise when Adam and Eve ate from the forbidden tree. He knew beforehand that they are going to eat from the forbidden tree, that sin will enter into the world, that with sin this will enter into the world. He knew all of that! He knew me, He knew you, He knew everybody. He knew all of our friends before we were born. And what happened? The provision of God was, one should go and redeem those people. No one, no human being can redeem any human being. Why? Because we are all bankrupt. I am bankrupt. You are bankrupt. We need a wealthy person. We need someone who could really redeem us. And Jesus Christ said, "I am going to do that." And from eternity, there was a triangle, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Son said, "I am going to take the form of man. I am going to pay the penalty of sin." And what is the penalty of sin? Fasting? Paying prices? Going to church? Going to pilgrimage? Going to Mecca or Jerusalem? No! The wage of sin is death! And Jesus said, "I am going to die. I am going to pay the penalty of sin." And He came. And He stayed here for 33 years. And He went to the cross, and He died. And He died for you, and He died for me. Every sin I have committed was known to the eternal God before I was born, or else God will not be God. And He knew that you'll receive His son, Jesus Christ, as your redeemer, as your Savior, and you'll confess Him as the Son of God who died for you on the cross of Calvary, to pay the penalty of sin. And because of that, He pronounces you justified. What does that mean 'justified'? You are a criminal, a sinner by nature and by action. But when you receive Jesus Christ, then He paid it in full, when He died. And because He paid it in full, He said on the cross, "It is fulfilled, it is completed." The word is telstine, and it is the Greek word which means, it is all paid for. Jesus Christ paid for all your sins.

The only thing that you can do is to get yourself a Bible. Please, go and get yourself a Bible, at least the New Testament. Read the story of Jesus. Meet Him on the pages of the New Testament. See the man, the miracle worker. Read and sense His wisdom, His love, His forgiveness, His kindness, His compassion, and receive Him in your heart as your Lord, and Savior, and Redeemer, and you will be saved.

The juror cried out to Paul and Silas, "What must I do to be saved? And both of them said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved." And I say the very same words to you, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved. May God bless you!
